Next Meeting:
Official Visit of the 202402025 District 7780 District Governor
This week was a Board meeting, open to all members. The meeting was a ZOOM Meeting, held at 1 pm on Tuesday September 10.
The next meeting is the Official meeting with the District Governor Bob McKenzie. Each year the Rotary District Governor's are required, at the start of the year, to meet individually with each club in their District to present the goals and initiatives of the Rotary International President and themselves, for the Rotary year. If at all possible ,we hope all the Club members will try to make this meeting.
Pam and Andy announced the Calendars would not be ready in time for the planned September 15th release party. The decision was made to start sales upon receipt of the calendars and to hold the Release event October 6 at 11 am at 2nd Christian church (pending review with the Church).
On September 24th the RYLA campers will share their experiences at camp this year. We will meet at Traip that morning. We have been told that parking is tight this year, and we have been asked to car pool if possible.
President Pauli reminded the Club that the District Recovery Conference will be held on September 28th at Noble high school, all day.
We have received several nominations for the 2024 "Community Champion" Recognition. nominations have been circulated to the club, there will be further discussion once everyone has a chance to review them. We are planning an end of October recognition event.
Pints for Polio: We are planning a repetition of the event at the Tributary brewery on the 24th, family and friends encouraged, we hope to have music available as well.
Dave announced that Makili Matty has applied for a long term (10 month) Youth Exchange for the upcoming year. We will be the sponsor club and we can expect to be hosting an incoming student for that year. To support the hosting of a student we will need to find host families , and any individuals who will be working one to one with the student needs to have the necessary background checks and training.
Club Treasurer Andy presented the Club financial reports for the club operations and the Kittery Rotary Foundation, there were no questions and the reports stand accepted.
Pam presented a Cookie baking project idea to support the Seacoast Fridge, offering her own kitchen for a fun social/service gathering, details to follow.
There will be no meeting at the Community Center on November 5th due to elections, we may do a Zoom meeting, that decision is under review.
The idea of a pizza party gathering with the Interact Club was discussed again and a suggestion was made to make it convenient by holding it at Traip right after school on a day in November.
Sue discussed thoughts on doing the next CPR course and was looking for suggestions of organizations to partner with to increase community attendance, we are going to discuss this with the KCC as something to include in their programs.
Last week's support for the Table of Plenty was very well staffed thanks again to the involvement of the R.W. Traip Academy Interact Club. Andy provided the following pictures (so he is was very much there , but not in the picture ;-).
