Pam and Andy will be at Northeast President Elect Learning Seminar (PELS) which runs from Thursday, March 6 through Saturday, March 8 at the Sheraton Framingham. And, in case you have not heard, we are still looking for a president elect for our club.
Dave Gooch is home from the hospital and is up and walking. He has people staying with him, but may need rides to his dialysis on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
On March 5, Bob Guay was scheduled to deliver a big check to the students at Mitchell school. The story about that will be published on the club website soon and will be included in next month's newsletter.
50-50 raffle: Andy's ticket was drawn and with the odds of 1 in 15 and with the pot at $826, anticipation was at a fever pitch as Andy reached for the deck. Would he pull the Joker and win half the pot, or would he hear the dreaded "But, you're a winner for having played the game"?

Unfortunately for Andy, it was the latter rather than the former. Fortunately, the odds will be better for the next draw.
Sarah Johnson and Janet Drew joined us for our March 4, 2025 meeting. There they gave a compelling presention on the state of incarceration in Maine and on upcoming related initiatives and legislation. They are members of the Maine Prisoner Advocacy Coalition, Parole4Maine, the Maine Participatory Defense HUB, Southern Maine for Racial Justice and the York County Jail Board of Visitors.
