The Kittery Photo calendar project will take another week due to a temporary binding equipment issue at the printer's. The "Breakout Party" for the calendar sales is scheduled for October 6th at 2nd Christian Church (Brad's) at 11, after service.
The Pints for Polio event at the Tributary Brewery is October 24th, we will be hosting along with Kittery Rotary Afterhours Club.
Next week the meeting will be at Traip Academy. Because of the large number of students driving cars currently parking is limited and the school requests we carpool where possible.
50-50 Raffle: 50% of the funds go toward club administration and 50% go in the 'Pot" , which this week is $212.50. The holder of the lucky raffle ticket drawn gets to pick a card from the ever decreasing deck, if they select the Joker they get the "Pot"
Marie had the lucky ticket this morning:
But she picked the Queen of Diamonds!
The Joker was the 4th card to her right ;-(
The "Pot" continues to grow!
Rotary Moment: Past District Governor (PDG) Andy talked about the commitment that Rotarians who take the District Governor role make. After an extensive interview process and acceptance by the Rotary International President, the individuals are in a 30 plus month training track of District Governor training , committee involvement, District planning, and event planning. After their year as District Governor, they are committed to fill roles on District Committees for at least five years, but then they are always PDG's, tapped to provide expertise and Rotary district or Zone support. The training phase and DG year are almost full time jobs.
Editor's Note: The "Official Visit" is a required visit, but usually the District Governor has already visited each club sometime in the prior years once "in the track", and then during the year the District Governor will return as possible for major club events.
