The Students of the Month for March 2025 are Lucy Gingras from Shapleigh School and Jheidelys Rivera-Tavarez from Traip Academy
Lucy Gingras is an 8th Grade at Shapleigh School.
She is described as motivated and having great engineering skills. Those engineering skills are well applied to one of her interests which is mousetrap cars. She also has skills in writing; one of her poems moved one of her teachers to tears.

She plays soccer and skis and is learning to play the piano. Lucy's teacher, Mr. Ludick played a rap song that he created by feeding Lucy's attributes into AI and having AI create the song. When asked about what she found positive about her experience at Shapleigh, she said how much she appreciated the support of her teachers.
Jheidelys Rivera-Tavarez is a Sophomore at Traip Academy.
Her teachers characterize her as being humble, honest, positive and leading by example. She has created her own nutrition video and a vision board for her future which may include a future in law enforcement

Jheidelys plays field hockey and basketball and enjoys baking.
After presenting Lucy and Jheidelys with Rotary medalions, School Superintendent Eric Wadell mentioned that the Kittery school system has the highest military-connected family rate of any system in Maine.
