Literacy is very important to to Rotary, and Rotary Clubs have many different projects to promote literacy in their communities. One of the Projects for the Rotary Club of Kittery is to provide funds for Classroom books for each of the Mitchell School 3rd Grade Classrooms.
On January 21st, members of the Rotary Club of Kittery met at Mitchell School with the Third grade classes and their teachers. The Club presented the teachers with $100 each to buy books for their classrooms. Each teacher and each classroom decides how they are going to spend the funds. Some classrooms go for individual books for each student, some go for books to be available in the classroom for individual to read there, some buy reference books. In past years there have been many different approaches.
